Hi guys! My name is Chogyal Wangda and I am from Bhutan. I am writing this blog post with a clear intention to help the people who have gained so much of weight. Water fasting technique have been used for several health benefits, like preventing dehydration, weight loss, etc. and sometimes even used for spiritual reason.
Water fasting is just a kind of fasting but you drink only water within a certain period of time.
1. Understanding Water Fasting
Water fasting is one of the quickest way to reduce your weight. Water can be considered as a kind of lubricant for our joints. Water helps to stop dehydration, regulates our body temperature through perspiration and breathing, and also helps to to flush out toxins from our body.
Drinking water is also one of the survival technique to be used if you are left without food in the jungle. If you lost your way in the jungle, you can move to a place where the water is available. A human being can live for about twenty one days or more just by drinking water but would typically last only a maximum of one week without taking water or food.
2. Taking Care Of Your Health During Water Fasting
During Water fasting, you should not eat any food but you should drink only water. You can eat a few cucumber slices just to cure your hunger. But don't over do it. Please keep in mind that you should not take any alcohol or any hazardous foods for your health. Also refrain from taking any tea, supari or mouth fresh. Do not take any other stuffs than a few slices of cucumber. If you can resist, please avoid taking cucumber too. Drink water time and again during your water fasting period. If you can't avoid being a smoker, drinker or drug addict, then water fasting is not for you.
3. How Long Should I Do Water Fasting?
Water fasting can depend upon how healthy your body is. You can do water fasting up to two weeks. It is said that we can live with water up to three weeks or more but I think if you can cut down to a maximum of two weeks, it would be quite enough for you to reduce your weight. We don't want to risk too much for our health, right?. Typically you don't have to do water fasting even for 2 weeks. It can be of three days or one week. It depends upon how long you really want to do water fasting.

You should not do water fasting if you are sick or underweight. If you are underweight or often get sick, please avoid water fasting at any cost. There are high chances that your immune system might become weaker and your illness may become the worst. If you are even caught with cough and cold, please avoid doing water fasting.
6. Stay Away From Delicious Foods
You should not stay near any delicious foods. You food cravings will begin to rise up unexpectedly and you will be more prone to eat foods. This is where water fasting fails.
7. Commitment
Without commitment, you can't do water fasting. You must promise yourself to perform your water fasting successfully within a certain period of time. Think of your ideal body weight that you want to achieve. You will naturally become committed to do your water fasting. You can skip breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can drink only water and achieve your ideal body weight.
8. Conclusion
Water fasting can help you to detoxify your body. It helps to remove unnecessary fats from your body thereby you achieve your ideal weight. To solve the problem of obesity, I think the water fasting is a great method that one can choose.
Water fasting technique has been also used for religious or spiritual reasons. For example, some Buddhist monks use to do some kind of water fasting within their religious ceremony or some monks do it on regular basis. They eat only breakfast and lunch and they skip dinner but they drink water, juice or tea. After eating lunch, they avoid taking all kind of solid foods that have to be chewed.

Amazing Holy Place | Pilgrimage To Baga Tsho & Amay Nay
It's located about 21 km away from Lhamoyzinngkha dungkhag where we can find Peeping Bridge of Wangchu River. I was on the way to pilgrimage to a sacred place known as Amay Nay. It's a few minutes walk from Peeping Bridge. This holy water source is known as Baga Tsho.
Beside this, the most scaredly, a saint known as Rinzin Garap Dorji attained rainbow body here in Amay Nay. That's why Amay Nay is considered as the very sacred place by many saints.
According to a Tshampa(a man who underwent months/years of retreat), even if we have planned to visit a Buddhist sacred place, we would become compassionate and enlightened beings. So if we can visit the holy places in real life, then it means a lot.
Bhutanese Doma (Chewing of Betel Nuts/Areca Nuts, Betel Leaves & Lime )
Since it has got the traditional values, chewing betel nut is not restricted in Bhutan. However, these days, doctor advises the people to stop taking the betel nuts. Chewing betel nut in some other countries has also became their tradition. However, the chewing of betel nut increases the risk of mouth cancers and the esophagus and it can also adversely affect the health of a baby inside the womb.
Doma, {which comprises of betel nut, lime & paan (betel leaf)} is chewed and enjoyed by many Bhutanese adults. Matured Betel nuts usually smell like a stool. If you heat a matured betel nut on a frying pan, it smells like a bone. Bhutanese domas are usally packed inside a paper or inside a small plastic. Plenty of Packed domas can be found in the Bhutanese markets. Excessive or to some people even a moderate chewing of doma is injurious to health! Please take care of your health.
The areca nut in Bhutan is mostly imported from India, Assam and Bengal. The cultivation of areca nut had also started in the 1960s in the southern foothills of Bhutan. Upon importing the Betel nuts, we have to pay 50% customs duty on CIF value and 20% sales tax on FOB value. For betel leaves, we have to pay 50% customs duty on CIF value and we don't to pay sales tax. For all the Indian goods customs duty is exempted and we have to only sales tax.

Traditional Method To Cross A Larger River By Using A Ropeway
There are different modes of transport such as air, ship, and land transport. Ropeway is also a mode of transport for materials or people. It's used mostly in mountainous areas or bridgeless rivers, where the carriers are hung from moving cables powered by a motor or sometimes it is being driven manually by the travelers.
People also use the ropeways to see some beautiful sceneries of the mother nature.
In the above video, I have filmed the people of Bai Kuenzang village while they were travelling to various places. They travel all the way from Bai Kuezang village and the most difficult part is that they have to cross a large river known as Wangchu. After crossing Wangchu, they use to travel to various places like Lhamo Zingkha, Jumja, Phuntholing town, Thimphu, etc., in order trade their farm products and buy their necessities. They have been using this ropeway for a quite long time back but today a long suspension bridge has been constructed where it bought a light of happiness to the people of Bai Kuenzang.
This ropeway was located at a place called Peeping, about 21 km away from Lhamo Zingkha toward the north. As the suspension bridge is now complete, people are no longer using this ropeway.
